NZIPP Iris Awards 2026
I was unable to attend the 2026 Iris Awards in person, but made up for that by entering 11 images across three different awards categories. I tried as far as possible to avoid work which I’d consider too obvious or “NZIPPY”. So I was always expecting it to be hit and miss, and indeed it was.
Of course there are risks to such an approach, and a couple of images I personally really love got dismal results. Overall there was some good feedback, some bad feedback, and in one or two cases, feedback that made me wonder what the judges were smoking.
I was satisfied with the results I achieved, ending up with two Silver Distinctions, three Silvers and four Bronzes.
